Shauntay Patterson

Coordinator

’m Shauntay a  proud sister of SHS and part of the team dedicated to empowering future healthcare professionals. As the coordinator, grant writer, and advocate for SHS, I focus on creating opportunities, securing resources, and ensuring every student has the support they need to succeed.

My passion is connecting people with the tools, funding, and guidance that open doors — especially for individuals from marginalized and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. I believe that education and mentorship are powerful ways to transform lives and strengthen communities.

The Bible reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23). This verse reflects the heart of my work at SHS — using my gifts to advocate, uplift, and create pathways for others to thrive in healthcare.

I’m honored to walk alongside our students, guiding them toward their goals and helping build a stronger, healthier community for all.

Kristian Patterson

Cofounder

I’m Kristian, one half of SHS, which I co-founded with my sister, Skye. Together, we created SHS to empower people like us through support, mentorship, and community.

With over ten years of nursing experience — from CNA to LVN to RN — I’ve learned that true fulfillment comes not only from caring for patients, but also from guiding and uplifting others along the way. That’s where my passion for mentorship began. I find joy in helping people grow, sharing knowledge, and connecting them with the resources they need to thrive.

The Bible reminds us to “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). This verse captures the heart of SHS’s mission — to give back to our community. Through SHS, I hope to be a change agent, creating opportunities for individuals from marginalized and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities to thrive in healthcare careers.

Every step of my career has prepared me for this purpose, and I’m beyond excited to walk alongside you as you take your next step into healthcare.

Skye Patterson

Cofounder

I’m Skye, co-founder of SHS, and proud to share this vision with my sister, Kristian. Together, we built SHS out of a shared desire to make healthcare education accessible to everyone — especially those who might not otherwise see a path in.

My nursing journey began with a heart for service and a calling to care for others. Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse clinical settings that deepened my belief in the power of education and compassion. I’ve witnessed firsthand how knowledge can change not only an individual’s life, but entire families and communities.

At SHS, our goal is to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and capable of more than they imagined. We believe in equipping students with the tools, confidence, and faith to succeed — both professionally and personally.

As the Bible reminds us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). That spirit of using our gifts to serve guides everything we do at SHS.

Our part-time nursing assistant program is tailored for the adult learner, offering night classes that fit seamlessly into your busy schedule. Designed for working individuals and parents, these courses provide a valuable opportunity to advance your education in medical while maintaining your professional and personal commitments. Join us to take the next step in your healthcare career!

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

SHS was founded by two sisters, both Registered Nurses, who wanted to give back to their community by creating a pathway for others like them to enter healthcare. In a world where opportunity is too often denied to marginalized and under-resourced communities, SHS was created to change that — built on a foundation of service, compassion, and empowerment, guided by a commitment to honor God. The school exists to support and empower individuals who dream of meaningful careers in healthcare but may not know where to begin. Through hands-on medical training, mentorship, and education, SHS removes barriers, builds confidence, and inspires purpose. Its mission is not only to train skilled professionals, but to nurture individuals who will go on to uplift their communities  through their work with heart, integrity, and excellence.

Our Mission

At SHS Medical Training, our mission is to help people build brighter futures through compassionate care. We believe strong communities start with skilled and caring healthcare professionals, so we provide hands-on CNA training that’s supportive, affordable, and empowering. Our goal is to prepare each student with the confidence, knowledge, and heart to make a real difference — one patient, one family, and one community at a time.
